Day 4 in the Bunker....

Ughh.... I cannot stress how much I hate, hate, HATE being sick!!! Its going on almost a week now and not only do I feel like I have been run over by an 18- wheeler, but the baby is also sick! I barely have enough energy to keep myself going much less tend to a sick & cranky baby... its days like these when I wonder how single moms of more than one child do it... Heres to hoping that the cold meds will at least clear up my congestion enough so that I can breathe out of BOTH nostrils!!!

Kalel 10 Months

Kalel is 10 Months old! I cant even believe that he has been in my life for almost a year already... He is learning so many new things every day! Just in this month... He is learning to eat by himself, he can almost use a spoon on his own- and he is eating table food. His new words in the past month are "Bye-Bye" "Baby" "Bear" and he is  pointing to everything. His new thing is pointing at me when he is touching something he is not supposed to be messing with because I always point when I tell him "No" - I guess that is what I have to look forward to next- him telling me "no" Lol Im laughing now, but Im sure I wont be too thrilled wen the time comes :o) He also learned how to clap and raise his hands up in the air (Soooo Big!), and is dancing to music (so freakin cute!!) We ended up having to take him for bloodwork at the end of May because his skin was yellowish-orange and the results came back that his Carotene level is super high, a normal level is 85 and his was 983!!! We were refferred to a GI Specialist which we went to on June 22nd and it was Dr. Tech- she didnt seem overly worried about it and assured us that most healthy babies will have high carotene levels and that is normal because they are pretty much vegetarian until 9months of age. But, because his was 10X higher than average they are playing it safe and told us to cut back on fruits and veggies that are high in beta-carotene and he goes back for more bloodwork in September they are going to check carotene again and then his cholesterol and kidney function because in rare cases high carotene can be associated with kidney disease, diabetes, and high cholesterol! So we are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that all is well....

Meanwhile I am so thankful to be able to work part-time and spend so much time with Kalel at home, he is really benefiting from it- I was even told by a complete stranger in the grocery store the other day that I must spend alot of time with him because he is very smart for a 10 month old! That makes it all worth it... I love being a Mommy to this precious little boy <3

 

One Year Anniversary!!!

As of June 20, 2010 I have been married to the most amazing husband and father of our son that I could ever ask for! I dont know what I would do without someone so caring and thoughtful by my side... I never would have thought 8 years ago when we first met working at Winn Dixie, or even 3 years ago when we saw eachother again at Sea Vista, that not only would we end up dating and soon falling in love with eachother- but that we would move in with eachother, get engaged, get pregnant, get married, and then welcome a beautiful baby boy into this world in less than 3 years. And now we are celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary and I could not be any happier with any other man on the planet! I love you Anthony Ray Schwanke and here is to many many more years to come!

We went to Pappas for breakfast and then to the beach with Kalel and then went home for showers, lunch, & nap... then we dropped Kalel off at Gammas house and went to dinner at the Garlic and then to Pjs for a drink, then off to the movies to see Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (great movie) and then we picked up Kalel and went home... it was a great day nice to just relax and have a good time with the Hubz for a change <3

Beach Day

To Celebrate our Anniversary / Father's Day we took Kalel to the beach (the day after June 21st) Because on our actual Anniversary and Father's Day Anthony couldnt get off of work... so because we were going out later that night and getting a sitter we decided to have a beach day with the family! It took Kalel a little bit to start to enjoy the beach but once he started playing in the sand and the water he had fun!

So.... Lynzee has been in Delray for damn near a month now and I am beginning to grow crazy again like the walls are closing in on me... spending day after day in the house with only a 10 month to communicate with- dont get me wrong I love my son- but I need some normal interaction! Anthony is never home and even on his days off it seems he isnt home! And then comes home from work in a bad mood 90% of the time... Except for the past week he has been acting awkward like doing shit around the house and being nice and letting me sleep in on work nights and bought me flowers! Not that I dont appreciate it because I do- just very unlike him lately.... Mom mentioned it was prolly because our 1 year Anniversary is in 2 days.... but any kind of special day or holiday (like Christmas, my bday, valentines, or even Mothers day)  has never got this reaction out of him before! Whatever jsut having one of those days... Im kinda pissy so dont mind me!

Happy 30th Birthday to my bestie Michelle!!! I love this girl more than anything in the world! We had a blast with all the girls and guys at Hi-Tops!

Kalel 9 Months

Kalel is getting to be such a big lil man! He now has two teeth and learned how to pull up on things to stand up by himself and he is cruising all around the house holding onto furniture and walking holding onto our hands! He is trying to talk so much now he says "hi" and "bye" and waves and is starting to eat alot of real food now- He likes just about everything. He even picked up the spoon and fed himself some applesauce the other day!

Update in the Schwanke household...

My 23rd Birthday (April 14th):

I had an awesome Birthday that lasted like 3 days! I got my nose re-pierced as a gift to myself : ) the day before my bday and Ally redid hers with me... Then on my bday we went to dinner with some fam and friends at Big Planet Pizza and then went for drinks at Pjs while Lynz baby sat & then we came back to the house for a little after party with some more friends and fam. Then the next day I went to dinner with my Dad and brother and sister at Chile's and then had some drinks back at the house again... It was a blast!

Walls are closing in on me!

Had a very rough, emotional, day yesterday... Been having alot of those lately. Not sure whats going on just wish I could be back to my normal self! For once in a long time I actually had the motivation to get some things done around the house and decided to work on the playroom. Well I couldnt get everything to fit anywhere with all the holiday decorations back there and so I decided to put them in the closet by the washer and dryer when Anthony got home to help me- only to figure out after doing it all that it wouldnt fit! So we had to take it all out and now its all stacked up in the room again, so yea had a total melt down last night and pretty much cried for the rest of the night and then felt like crap because of it when I woke up today! Everything going on lately has just been getting to me! This house is entirely too small for all of our stuff and it drives me crazy because I hate that everything is not organized... there is just no room to put things away. And then my gallbladder is just getting worse and I have no insurance or money to get it taken care of and Im getting bills and phone calls just about every day from going to the ER for it. And then there is the stress of trying to save money for Kalel's 1st Bday (in 4 months!) and Christmas and me and Anthony's 1 year wedding anniversary (in 2 months!!!) Ahh! I hate work lately and I hate even more the fact that I feel like Im exhausted and dont feel like doing anything but sleeping most of the time... 

Glad that I did have a somewhat better day today, Ally came over for a little bit, wanted to spend sometime outside I think the fresh air is good for me lately- at the risk of sounding cheesy- its food for the soul : )

My 23rd birthday is in 23 hours... going to force myself to get up early and spend the day at the beach or the park, because I know even if its hard getting out of bed I will be so happy that I did it, been spending way to much time indoors lately. Then gonna go and get my nose re-pierced with Ally! Working tomorrow night and then spending the whole day Wednesday with friends and family for my bday! I cant wait to get out and feel a little human again!

Kalel's 1st Easter

Easter 2010 was a great day with Family... we went to Nana & Poppy's house for Sunday breakfast and spent some time with the family and then Daddy had to go to work at 1pm. : ( I really wish Anthony could have been there for the whole day, but Kalel still had fun! I love that Anthony's family is so close and gets together and celebrates holidays and birthdays together as a family because that is how I grew up and my family is just not like that anymore : (

Kalel Update 7 Months

Kalel turned 7 months old on March 25th and he got his 1st tooth the same day!!! I cant believe how big my little boy is getting and how much he is learning every day! He has now mastered the army crawl and never sits still so we are working on finishing up the play room so he cant get into everything and then I need to baby proof the whole house... dreading that!

APRIL!!!

12 days and counting til my 23rd Bday... making up for being pregnant last year... gonna get KRUNK- nuff said!

Kalel Update

Well, Wednesday was Kalel's 6 month check-up and he now weighs 16lbs 14oz which is only 5oz more than his 4 month check-up but the doctor said since he is more active it is normal and he is still high on the charts in the 54th percentile. And for his height, he is 28inches! He is gonna be a tall boy in the 98th percentile! Everything checked out fine and the doctor said he is actually learning things a bit early for his age : )
He got his 6 month shots and ended with a fever for almost 2 days though! He had a fever from between 99 to 100.4 all night after his shots even after giving him tylenol he was up all night fussing because he didnt feel good and then yesterday he was pretty good during the day still had the fever though! Last night after giving him tylenol again at like 6pm and he still had a temp I called my mom. She said to make sure he had plenty of fluid and to give him a bath in luke warm water to cool him down. So I gave him the bath and it brought the temp back down to 99-something and I asked Ant's mom to bring some pedialite. I gave him that and he passed out. He woke back up at like 3am- the fever was gone! Thank God! But he was wide awake and didnt fall asleep until almost 5am. So, even though I was off the last few days I felt like I worked lol I was up all night with him both nights and went to bed at like 5am.

I love my family!

The past few days have been great! I have just been in a really good mood for a change, I was feeling really down and unlike myself few a few months it seemed! I have been thinking alot about my future! For myself and my family... I think we are really gonna start putting some money away and looking for a house to buy... I want to get settled into a place that is big enough for our family to grow! Even though it will definitely be a few years before we try for a little sister or little brother for Kalel I want to be ready for it 100%. I have also been giving alot of thought to going back to school, I m still debating over what I really want to do though, Im just not 100% sure that I want to stay with Nursing... Time will tell Hopefully this positive energy keeps flowing!

Ughh...

Sick all day yesterday! Felt a little better today, but Im so strung out on cold/flu meds its ridiculous! Sucks that I gotta work tonight! Hope I can get through this night, what i really need is another dose of medicine and my warm bed... well 7am will not come soon enough!

Last day off and sick!

My last day off before its off to the View and I woke up this morning with my tonsils swollen and have been sneezing and had a runny nose all day :( Thank God Kalel is in a good mood today! My wonderful husband is bringing me some medicine home when he gets off work.... Hopefully this goes away before I gotta work tomorrow night! So much for my plans of getting Kalel's play-room done today :(

Update February 2010

Well been awhile since I have been on here so quick update:

 I am still working part-time doing three days a week (Tues, Thur, Fri) at the View, working midnight shift which really sucks sometimes but, its worth being able to stay home with Kalel when he is awake! Me and Anthony got an awesome new bedroom set with our Income tax return this year- yay for new Kingsize pillow top matress! Also we are currently working on turning the back room into Kalel's play room- I cant wait til its all done!
